The viral notice in the name of the Ministry of Tourism to close all the hotels and restaurants till October 15 is fake.
A picture of a notice from the Ministry of Tourism is going viral on social media. It is claimed that all the hotels, restaurants and resorts in the country will remain closed till October 15 due to the outbreak of Coronavirus.
The message is being widely shared on WhatsApp.
The message reads, "As order by the tourism govt. of India the information came that all tourism department of India. Hotels, restaurants, resorts all over India will remain closed til 15-october 2020 due to coronavirus disease spread all over the world. The order directly came from India tourism department. And most important north Indian hotels, resort, restaurants will closed till the date. If any incase found the case will filed on that owner. For more information login to indiantourism.org. (sic)"
In our investigation, we found that the notice is fake. The Ministry of Tourism itself tweeted and informed that the Ministry has not given any such order.
The Ministry of Tourism Clarified the claim through their official Twitter handle that no such order was issued by the Ministry. "The MoT, GoI, requests your attention to kindly refrain from forwarding a certain fake message regarding the closure of hotels/restaurants. We assure you that we have not issued such a message".
Press Information Bureo's fact-checking also clarified that this viral claim is fake.
In conclusion, the viral notice in the name of the Ministry of Tourism to close all the hotels and restaurants till October 15 is fake.
